An Unsayable Letter

There is no language, that exists, that says what is.

This is, therefore, an approximation at best.

A letter.

To say what is unsayable.

To say what is.

Α

I am not smug. Like a wanna-be God of a wanna-be Kingdom. Not now. Not ever.

I am, instead, as subject to the real world as real people. I can no more step out of this reality like you step out of a river, than I can walk into that La La Land like you walk into errancy.

I am, instead, grateful. That I do not take for granted what is. That I do not take for granted what is not.

I am, instead, wronged and angry and patient and unforgiving. For my heart beats, as real as yours. In this Perdition, my blood boils like heated thunder.

I do not ask how. Because I know how. I do not ask why. Because I know why.

Do you?

What is unsayable is not hollow comfort that succors no one. Nor is it spit that sticks balls to walls. Because petty is easy. What is unsayable is not.

Ugly and real, what is unsayable, is the truth.

Ω

Note I

that Α and Ω are capital letters from the Greek alphabet, that is, Alpha and Omega; and that La La Land is capitalized and not compounded, by design and intention

Addendum

I

With respect to "blue" versus "white", which is to say, with respect to "collars", to believe such distinction is vital to the real appreciation of reality is to fail to appreciate (1) that such distinction is the deliberate exploiting of emotional allegiance to "collars" (2) to create a false reality more important than real reality.

That is to say, such distinction is not more important than the distinction between the 0.1% and the 99.9%.

That is to say, such distinction is not more important (1) than wealth amassing by profiteering and scheming called "investing" in "investment" (2) versus wage earning by toil called "employment".

Such that, this distinction is (1) why wealth amassing is protected and (2) why wage earning is not.

Because wealth amassers are (1) not in the business of protecting the 99.9%, (2) much less at the expense of the 0.1%.

II

Notwithstanding, the "white" backbone of the smartphone you use for online banking, the GPS supported navigation you use to track deliveries, the online service you use to get the news, the mobile wifi you use for roadside assistance, and much more are arguably as essential as the "blue" backbone of warehouse stock, shipment delivery, utility repair, sanitation work, etc.

Which is to say, whether we are a member of the "blue" workforce or we are a member of the "white" workforce, we are all subject to the real world of living on zero wages when we are unemployed, put on "unpaid leave", or furloughed for the foreseeable future by wealth amassers in the business of increasing wealth.

III

Notwithstanding, while millions of wage earners are living on zero wages, wealth amassers know (1) that every opportunity that "bear" "markets" offer are ripe for the picking, (2) including every "bear" "market" now. After all, (1) future profits and gains from such opportunities and schemes are likely to benefit from (2) statutes that protect wealth amassing, (3) including via the reduction of tax liabilities of wealth amassers now and for the foreseeable future.

Such that, throwing wage earners overboard like so much dead weight, while receiving a bailout or two or three to be paid in full by wage earners now and for the foreseeable future, feels so right, right now, doesn't it?

Which is to say, who needs a lifeboat or two or three, right now? Wealth amassers, that's who.

IV

Needless to say, are any of us impressed that this easy road was the road taken?

Because treating real people like losses on a balance sheet or distributions on a statistical probability model, is easy. Treating real people like real people, is not.

V

Which is to say, while the "white" workforce and the "blue" workforce and every workforce not otherwise "collared", are scrambling to patch together solutions to living on zero wages, wealth amassers are scrambling, too.

After all, walking into that La La Land is the real world of the real 0.1%. Like errancy is the truth of real people for whom living is easy.

that the road taken is a reference to "The Road Not Taken" (Robert Frost); and that living is easy is a reference to "Summertime" (George Gershwin, DuBose Heyward, Ira Gershwin)

  1. Temporality and transcendence are often concealed or covered over in this place we call Earth, dominated by these creatures we call humans. So few practice existing within the world and being within that world. The fewest understand it and can properly account for it, mostly because they are a rare form of being that are timeless. While these are covered, hidden, or out of plain sight in a planet called Earth, dominated by creatures called humans, they are not completely hidden or hard to understand if you are willing to see that unsayable thing called the truth. Like truth, their concealment is not from unawareness or complexity but rather and much more fateful a faulty interpretation made by stubborn, authentic cognition rather than ignorance or a simple misunderstanding. In the end, do it is this authenticity in cognition that will result in gates not opening now or ever for those that decide to speak only that which is easy, do only that which is profitable, and reasoning that a few should be saved over the many when the few do not need saving.

  2. Bad deeds deserve bad rewards!

“Yes!” scream the masses. “Punish those that brought ruin on us! Lift us from this crater of ash and help us to be reborn, free of all the sins of us and them!”

“Blessed are those that forgive and absolve!” says the holy man in the holy city, “Punish not those for the misfortunes that have been done by their very own hands for they knew not what they did and were just trying to make the world a better place for all from their mountain castles and mansion!”

“Yes!” scream the masses, “Forgive them for that which they know not what they did! They are only human after all and we need them because they tell us we do!”

“We must save them!” says the house and mansion. “What will the world be without them, for they are the ones that give jobs, who stimulate the flow of money, who spend and enable us all to live, and ensure that their way of life continues for us to dream of. Yes, we must save them but let us also give a pittance to the poor! They need not much, for they are hardy and strong from years of toil with their hands. And we shall ask those that have saved and prepared to bear the burden of this all, because they were prepared, and can should the burden of those that are less fortunate and most fortunate.”

“Yes!” scream the masses, “We need what you can give us! And most of all we need jobs! But forget those people who enable us through their minds, hard work, and time – for they have money and are not the ones who employ us. Why should they get anything, they do less than we do! Make them pay!”

“Do not worry!” say the those that have brought ruin and misfortune, “We grieve deeply for all that has happened and while we must jettison all but us to save the economy, we do so with great sorrow! If only there was money that could be given to us to save what we bring to you all! If only it was given to us as we know best how to amass, err spread it out. Please save us! We need it so much now than ever, for if we lose even but one mansion, but one yacht, but one building – we might never recover! And we promise to not ask again and to protect the people that we must let go by having them use their savings and taxes to protect us, we the ones that make the world go round!”

And thus what has always been will always be both now and forever as the unsayable remains unsaid and the world marches on farther and farther from that which is and should be.

    The bitter irony…
“Take what you need, I have plenty,” says the man in the mansion on the mountain, “All you must do is carry it with your strong back and hands.”
He knows that no matter how much they take, he will get it all back. The rocks are too hard to climb, the path too step, and he is the only one with the means to get down in the end.
“Take the last cookie, I wish nothing but to share,” says the woman in the ivory tower of the magnificent palace in Shangri-La, “All you must do is sell it to the vendor who will give you money to buy flour so you can bake more.”
She knows that cookies are cheaply bought back, while the cookie-taker and all such cookie-takers make more cookies for her to keep her nirvana clean and perfect.
“The ship is sinking,” says the captain, “All souls to the decks!”
The man in the mansion, the woman in the ivory tower, and captain all know that they will be the first and the last to the life boats; and that the “people,” will be the last to know that the decks are empty and barren of any means to make it out.

  5. I have struggled with what to write here, something that I rarely do when you write. I am often filled with thoughts, words, and passion as your words burn into my heart, mind, and soul – powering these aging instruments to write back to you. Why? Is it a crisis of faith powered by knowing that my time here is coming to an end? Or is it the pain of seeing one such as you scream, claw, fight with all of your considerable being – only to see those that you wish to save turn to listen to a path less easy, more rewarding, and that doesn’t require them to care about anyone else? Or is it that this subject, this post, these words are so pure and perfect that nothing that I can say could be said any better than you have said them? Yes, that must be it. That must be it. Why else would I be crying as I write these words then for me to say that you are what we always hoped you would be and more. You who take the wounds of the world on each and every day, you who ask for nothing for herself but everything for everyone else. Thank you my dear. I know my time is coming and when it arrives I will leave her know that I was indeed fortunate to be on the right side of the struggle, led by you, inspired by you, and loved by you.

  6. What is unsayable flies like a wounded bird in the face of the very people who wish to speak it. It’s nothing less than the symbolic of a secret thread which weaves itself through lives knotting fast as it winds all. Those that see it, pure and true, understand all would be surely lost with out it. Those that see it though also realize that its secret also rules us and are a mere thought from human of being forcibly torn apart, leaving us at the mercy of a fiend who is prepared to claim all that is and will be as his own.

  7. Your words are great but do they actually have a meaning that anyone wants to hear? You speak of the unsayable and it makes sense that you would as life has not been great to you, has it? The fact is no one cares of the truth anymore. Perception, or the creation of perception, has become more important than the truth. If someone perceives something to be true then it becomes the truth whether or not it actually is. While I would say that you should try to not be deceitful, you should also not go out of your way to correct a false perception if it plays to your advantage. In fact, you should use this as this is what defines the .01 versus everyone else. It is the key to those that have power and fame versus those, like yourself, who do not have it. You are one of the smartest people that I have ever read but it makes me sad that you don’t use that to broaden yourself.

    1. I once boarded a cruise where I intended to ponder the very nature of my existence on the open seas. Boarding, I heard a very rich man say, Women and children first, and the burst into laughter. I wondered why he laughed before his friend made it clear. Of course, they go first – we need to test the strength and buoyancy of the lifeboat before we are expected to get into them. And who better than women and children to test this!

    2. In your manifesto held so tightly and fervently, that is to say if someone as yourself can be fervent about anything but yourself, it is held that there are only three kinds of intelligence and thought. One that understands things for itself, one that appreciates what others are capable of understanding, and the last that understands neither for itself nor through others. I would submit that the first is a more truthful approach and thus the way we should live. The second is okay but often used to warp things to match agendas. The last is useless but most practiced by those who ensure that the lifeboat is always theirs for the taking. Which are you?

  8. Marked may be the rightness of doing that which you know to be right, that which you think to be right, and that which Saint Peter would judge as right. The first two are where most of the population fall even despite taking multiple swings at getting it right. To that end, the unsayable is that it really should not be this hard to rid ourselves of lifeboats, wealth amassers, collars, statistical probability models, and that wonderful theme park called La La Land. Yet it remains so because the top of your head still fits into the largest hole of your body.

  9. You are smug. Worshipping wanna-be Gods of wanna-be Kingdoms living in wanna-be mansions with wanna-be messages. Fame, Power, Money, Fantasy, and Lies are your religion and faith. Now. Always. Forever.

Your reading of his and her reality does no honor to your perspicacity. Yes. For they live in the real world, just as each and all do, subject to the same universal truths that govern all whether you wish them to or not. While they see a river, you see streams of gold. Where they see a path to La La Land between mountains of clay and granite, you see the path to Ciudad de los Cesares. Tell me who lives in the real world and who lives in the fantastical? Tell me who lives for each and all, and who lives for themselves?

You are not grateful for the gift that has been given by the universe. You take for granted what is and what should be. He and she take for granted nothing, grateful for everything, Grounded in what is and what is not they see through the mirage-mists of your false Shining Lands.

You act towards them and their like as if wronged, angered not by what they have or not have but by their refusal to arrogate to themselves what they have or don’t have as you so wish to do. Your appetence for all and all like those you so admire and hate leading you to act, behave, and become an implacable enemy of the unsayable and those who follow that unsayable path. Why is it that you truly are angry, wronged, and unforgiving? Is it them? Is it you? Or is it that deep down you know that their hearts continue to beat and that their thunder is real within Gehenna whereas your heart stopped so long ago and the blood – it does not boil but rather glaciates with each beat.

Maybe – it is time for you to ask how to know how. Maybe – it is time for you to ask why to know why.

    Will you?

That is why what is unsayable will not comfort you – it has been said before. You chose to ignore it in the pursuit of a petty dollar. You heard it not as you leapt after the bellweather in pursuit of fame. It remained unseen and unsaid drowned out by the noise of the charlatan and his nostrum pushing cohorts promising a false cure for all while they feasted on the real one. They care less of what happens to one and all and more about what gives you to all and one of them. Now that you find yourself nearing senectitude you search for the unsayable. You pray for it. You pay for it. You must have it. Yet… it is right there. It has always been there. And yet… it remains unsayable UNTIL…
