Lessons on Lying

Though endless...

Here are a few lessons on lying... pertinent for our time...

Lessons on Lying

*

Zealots are as likely to believe lies - as stupids.

As a condition characterized by - blind following, blind believing, blind championship - zealotry is a condition no more likely to be characterized by truths - than the condition of stupidity.

Verily - zealotry and stupidity - both - elevate blind loyalties above truths - including the propagation and dissemination of 'actualities' as real as leprechauns sitting atop cauldrons of gold.

- for example - zealots who champion one candidate for political office - are no more likely to believe the truth - as stupids who follow an other candidate for political office -

- such that - both zealots and stupids are blindly loyal to lies - regardless of which candidate for political office either rally -

*

Peddlers of lies - invariably appear otherwise.

The gift of lying - is - the gift of appearing to truth.

That is - lying - isseeming to truth while lying

Such that - peddlers of lies are invariably deceivers who seem 'sincere', 'genuine', 'authentic', etc. - while being anything but 'sincere', 'genuine', 'authentic', etc.

Such that - differentiating between deceivers who pretend to truth and truthers who truth - is less about appearances, including testimonies, that are as easily scripted to seem believable and convincing as scripts of rehearsed fictions that keenly titillate on stages grand and miser - than about:

- what lies within - and - what lies without.

- for example - scripts of authenticity as easily appear to issue forth, from within candidates for political office as without - with respect to inner characters of candidates for political office and public characters of candidates for political office - as well as - with respect to private beliefs of the economy, governance, international relations, etc. and public beliefs of the economy, governance, international relations, etc. -

- regardless of truths - within and without -

*

Insofar as lies cohere societies - lies rampantly thrive with impunity.

Often - lies big and lies small - are compared -

- as if - size matters.

However - it's not the size of lies that matter - but lies themselves.

- for example - lies of companionship - are roundly reviled as big lies, as well as roundly dismissed as small lies - depending on contexts, nuances, perspectives, etc.

- likewise - lies of accountability.

Moreover - when lies fuel 'actualities' as real as rehearsed fictions - such lies are rewarded 'free passes' to advance 'actualities' as real as Babe the Blue Ox and the Cave of Wonders that flourish unfettered within imaginations of abandon.

- for example - voting matters is a lie propagated and disseminated by stakeholders and profiteers because stakeholders and profiteers gain by lies, including the lie that voting is the exercisement of agency -

- verily selecting candidates for political office - means as little today - as ever -

- (for a multitude of reasons beyond the scope of this post) -

- not least of which - for the following -

The vast majority of laws are inherently arbitrary - (including those laws endorsed and authorized by lawmakers of political office that are no less arbitrary by mere virtue of endorsement and authorization by 'lawmakers' than by endorsement and authorization vis a vis oft vaunted 'precedent' of 'jurisprudence') - for a multitude of reasons -

- verily many laws enacted by lawmakers - inordinately and recklessly - rely - on 'beliefs' of behavior and liability that are not only flagrantly arbitrary (insofar as in so doing the vast majority of laws eschew truths of behavior and liability for 'beliefs') - they are also shamelessly exploitable by accountability avoiders (insofar as such laws leave much to be desired with respect to justness per mutuus et aequum) - regardless of which candidate for political office promises or intends to endorse and authorize whichsoever laws of the land - as elected lawmakers -

- for the fact that the following is true- indicates that no matter which stakeholders and profiteers and candidates for political offices are decision makers and law makers - stakeholders and profiteers and candidates for political office - predictably and indisputably - endorse and authorize laws that serve accountability evasion (inevitably per self interest, as well as per paid interest) (among other 'institutional' interests) - rather than justness -

- case in point -

- one set of laws for those who pay to avoid accountability - and - another set of laws to discourage the 'masses' from 'embracing lawlessness' via public punishment, certain -

- one set of laws for 'the vulnerable' who 'warrant protection' (deemed 'necessary' by patently overt paternalism) who thereby avoid accountability - and - another set of laws to discourage 'advantage taking' by 'brutes' via public punishment, unequivocal -

- one set of laws for 'the compromised' of 'unsound constitution' ('qualified' by 'conditions' that fulfill with artifice what is wanting of verity) who thereby avoid accountability - and - another set of laws to discourage 'deliberate lawlessness' via public punishment, unassailable -

- etc.

Needless to say - believing the lie that stakeholders and profiteers have protected, are protecting, will protect any interests but their own (as accountability avoiders, etc.) - with respect to laws of the land

Needless to say - believing the lie that any candidate for political office has instituted, is instituting, will institute (as defenders of accountability evasion, etc.) - just laws that effect mutuus et aequum for all

- out of goodness -

- out of sincerity, genuity, authenticity -

- (much less generosity, magnanimity, altruism, patriotism) -

- defies belief - among all - but zealots and stupids.

*

Sadly - that distrust of lies and liars amounts to treason, sedition - irrationality, insanity - etc. - in the minds and hearts of many -

- results in the blind dismissal of care full scrutiny of that which is peddled for blind consumption -

- without rhyme, reason, or whyfor -

- other than blind adherence to lies pretending to truth.

More

It seems of little point to me, to state the obvious -

Nevertheless -

That the obvious is abundantly absent elsewhere -

The obvious is here.

Note

Notwithstanding above -

Let this be crystal clear -

Those who minimize the truths of lessons on lying -

Those who discredit the truths of lessons on lying -

In order to propel agendas of side choosing -

In order to propagandize agendas of side choosing - to the detriment of the truth -

Invariably see not their blind adherence to lies pretending to truth -

For blind loyalty to lies - is endemic and virulent among side choosers - of every side -

regardless of side - purloined permission, credential, authority - partisan patrony, superiority, condescension - self conceit, righteousness, sanctimony - much less, self ascribed infallibility, unassailable and overweeningly self important - etc.

PERIOD.

*

To the extent that myopia is a necessary condition of side choosing -

- any and all side choosers - who advance side choosing -

- are no less likely to be afflicted by that zealotry and stupidity characterized by aphotic determinism - than zealots and stupids afflicted by the same -

Such that - side choosers -

- of all strides -

- of all stripes -

- of all bells and whistles and lecterns and platforms -

- scaffold the very fictions that buttress the very stages upon which lies are peddled as easily as cures for blindness that cure nothing but that wantonly frivolous condition of riches desperate for lies pretending to truth extolled as ardently from props trotted as token testimonials as from zealots and stupids.

  1. Humans suffer from a common form of myopia that holds them back from becoming the civilization that other worlds probably have reached – they only see the things that fit in with their beliefs about each other and the world. And when something runs counter to that – they expend extraordinary amounts of energy to rail, coerce, or force conformity to whatever their “side” is. Even going so far as to suspend the truth, ignore facts, and tell lies to ensure that their state of being remains in line with their “side”.

You know what is truly amazing – that so many think that their side winning at all costs means more than having integrity, honesty, and generosity. In the end the joke is on the “nots” because the “haves” use them to get what they want in this world and then once in power enact more entrenchment to keep the “nots” from achieving power – or having equality with the “haves.”

Great post! My favorite piece was the ending which is a strong rebuttal of all of the “press” or “op-ed” or “comments” that espouse that one side is smarter than the other, that one side is more cultured than the other, and that one side has more complete truth than the other because they pay for it. Or – that your status as a professor at Yacht Club, Princes For Deceit, or whatever posh University conveys any knowledge of the actual subject being discussed. My hope is that the people read this and see through the modern day versions of Goebbels on both sides.

  2. I have always viewed any testimonial with skepticism and more of them that come out for someone makes me trust them less as I feel like I am being manipulated or convinced to "believe" something that is contrary to what everything that I see, hear, feel, or smell tell me. Besides, are not testimonials nothing more than, "trust me," which AM has always addressed before in stating that its nothing more than someone saying, "I am lying to you but I think you are too stupid to tell otherwise."

The mere fact that you feel the need to write this insightful piece is an indictment of the civilization that we live in now that does not understand the concept that hate is generated by choosing sides, and even more in thinking that your cause is absolutely right and that the other side is stupid because they must be less intelligent than you to think that your side is wrong. Our division now is profound. That division is driven by lies from those that benefit most from us being driven farther away from unity. Yet no one wants to hear that, no one wants to find the common ground where truth can sing. Instead everyone wants to hear their own songs of truth that are nothing more than lies. I really hope that your post starts to help cut through the myopia as we really need to find common ground before a revolution sweeps through the lands, but honestly some days I wonder if that would be such a bad thing.

  4. Thank you for this post. We all need lessons in honesty and integrity and this piece helps us to start questioning the lies that are rife all around us.

As I get older, I feel more of the weight of the world on my shoulder; wondering if the sacrifices that I made for the truth and unity were worth it when confronted with what I see each day now. I know in the end that it is worth it as the success of any great moral and mutual enterprise is not dependent on the the numbers that support it but rather the authenticity of those that seek to make the world better. I count myself fortunate to stand at the shoulder of you and your kind in trying to heal wounds and expose lies wherever they may exist. My hope is that the truth will ultimately be heard here; and if it doesn't then at least I can say I fought for it with all my heart.

  5. You do a great job of exposing the garbage culture out here, where we can pour garbage day in and day out on people in the form of lies. And then we have polls that will ask you whether you could smell the bull!@#$ or not to tell the crats whether the lie was effective or not.

  6. When you have lived on this.... planet as long as... I have... you learn to keep yourself... at a distance from... stupids and... zealots... as they both are ignorant... dangerous... and crazy... For societies to flourish... it's not education that is required... but tolerance and mutuality... to curb the plague... of stupidity and zealotry... or a really big asteroid....

Thank you for this.... refreshing... piece... on the wonders... of human stupidity... and zealotry...

  7. A world of lies is not dialectical. When lies dominant public discourse and interactions - people are sworn to the extremes and to radical antagonism (you're stupid, we're smart) which moves us farther from any form of equilibrium - and certainly far, far away from any form of constructive reconciliation or synthesis. In the end - the world of lies moves us closer to an arbitrary view of good versus evil and to the inherent dangers that we say during the Holocaust, the Crusades, the Civil War, and other major conflicts.

The needle is moving - will you help move it the way that this wonderful philosopher of peace and unity is striving for - or will you move it towards the path of hatred and war. I hope that all of you who read this will, "be with Her." The real Her not the other one that is seeking to destroy mutuality in her crazed bid for personal glory and power that promotes zealotry to achieve her end.

  8. Two things really !@#$ing get me going... zealotry and stupidity, especially when !@#$ing zealots can't see plainly that they are just !@#$ing stupid, like !@#$ing obviously stupid. From both sides, the level of !@#$ing stupidity demonstrated by the !@#$ing stupid is staggering but the level of stupidity demonstrated by the zealots on both !@#$bag sides is well... !@#$ing off the !@#$ing charts.
